In the manuals that I use the blue reading includes the following blends:
br, cr, dr, fr, gr, pr, tr
sc, sk, sm, sn, sp, st, sw, scr, str, spr, spl
bl, cl, fl, gl, pl, sl
double letters introduced:
dd, ff, gg, ll, pp, ss, tt, zz, ck
the following 'blends' (in my manuals they are considered beginning phonograms) that some manuals use during blue reading are not introduced until later in the green reading:
ch, th, sh
The long 'y' sound is introduced during the use of the phonetic baskets, I have not included the long 'y' sound in the blue reading work until level 6. You will want to make sure that you have introduced the long 'y' sound before this level of work.
Each file has a little information along with it to help in putting them together.

ReplyDeleteThank you very much for sharing such precious information.
ReplyDeleteIt is my pleasure to share with you and everyone else. I remember how much I needed this when I first started and it was years into it before I had everything I needed. I want to help people who need it now.
ReplyDeleteHi I am atempting to homeschool my son using the montessori methods and I was wondering if you could provide some details on how to use the blue series materials as i am clueless!!!
ReplyDeleteYasmin, I think that it is really important that if you are using the Montessori Method you find and purchase a good set of manuals to teach from. I don't know what country you are from, but if you are from North America Montessori Research and Development is a fabulous resource. Sometimes you can find a great website to tell you more, but I haven't found one this morning while I have been looking. If anyone out there does know of one, please forward that informatin here. Thanks
DeleteThank you so very much!!!!

Deletesuch a treasure of a resource. THANKYOU! just wondering if the words in level 5 are meant to be all red including the vowels? Just seems different to what you have done everywhere else. THANKYOU again :)
ReplyDeleteWhat you have created is absolutely beautiful. I am a mom of an 11 year old, 6 year old and 20 month old, studying to be a montessori teacher and homeschooling my 6 year old for the first time. I have manuals and I gather my information from websites and my own training. I am Grateful to have found your site. I have to tell you, you have been blessed by God to create such beautiful work, and you are blessing many moms-like myself- in return. It's okay to have short blogs. Your beautiful creations speak for themselves. You have created beautiful work for children....with instructions... and it's all FREE! I thank you and I'm sure my daughter will be excited to use these beautiful tools of learning. I appreciate this wealth of knowledge you have shared with us all. God Bless You, God Bless You, God Bless You! I Love You! I Love YOu! I Love You! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Peace and Love to all who reads this.
ReplyDeleteHi, i am attempting to learn the Montessori method to homeschool my children ages 6, 3 and 4 months. We are on a tight budget and making most things for ourselves. I am so grateful to have found your truly helpful website. Thank you. I do want to ask if you know of a less expensive way to acquire the methodology necessary to present the lessons and such. It is what I lack in addition to the funds to purchase the same. That is more than my homeschool budget for 2 years.
ReplyDeleteThank you for providing this wonderful resource. It is very much appreciated!!
ReplyDeleteHello! I have been looking around your beautiful blog for a few weeks, but I'm reluctant to print anything off. I work with a Montessori school in West Africa and have been building new materials for many of the classrooms. Is it breaking copyright if I use your materials for our school? We have to make most of our own since there aren't any local companies that make them, and importing them into the country is prohibitively expensive. I love your pink and blue series and will probably print it out for my own two children, but I wanted to ask permission before I make classroom sets. Please let me know! Thank you for sharing your work, it has already been a great blessing to me, as it sparks my creativity!
ReplyDeleteYou are more than welcome to use any materials I have posted here for your school in any way that you wish. I hope that they will be a blessing to you, your children and your school.
DeleteThank you so much for your wonderful resources. It is a great thing to share this priceless resources for free. May God bless you.
